Kick-off the new year with new skills! Parents and advocates join us for an invigorating, informational day of speakers!
Speakers include:
- Heather Charmoli, program director and trainer for MNAEYC & MNSACA. Heather will be presenting material from the book, Crucial Conversations. She will help advocates identify when a conversation turns crucial and how their participation is critical in collaborating towards mutual agreement. Attendees will build skills to assist in keeping the dialogue collaborative and working results-driven goals for increased student outcomes.
- Mary Cecconi, former educator, school board member, education consultant, former executive director & policy lead at Parents United. Mary will share from her experience the integral role parents & community members play in ensuring that all children have equitable opportunities for education and tips on how advocates can approach, collaborate and communicate in an effective manner.
- Susan Einspar, Parent Advocate PACER Center, Attorney.Susan will draw upon her years of experience as an advocate to share how parents can effectively work within educational environments to achieve desired results.
- Decoding Dyslexia Panel will discuss how to navigate educational environments in a manner that gets results, past policy, current policy goals and the importance that community plays in helping achieve better educational outcomes for all MN kids.
